Peer Review Policy for the Journal of Sports Management Issues (JSMI)

The Journal of Sports Management Issues (JSMI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of scholarly excellence and rigor. As such, we maintain a comprehensive peer review process to ensure the quality and validity of the research published in our journal.

Peer Review Process:

  1. Submission Review:

    • Upon receiving a manuscript, our editorial team reviews it to ensure it aligns with the journal's scope and guidelines.
    • Submissions that meet the criteria are then assigned to appropriate subject-matter experts who will serve as peer reviewers.
  2. Peer Reviewers Selection:

    • Peer reviewers are selected based on their expertise, experience, and familiarity with the subject matter of the submitted manuscript.
  3. Double-Blind Review:

    • JSMI employs a double-blind peer review process, where the author's and the reviewers' identities are kept confidential. This ensures an unbiased evaluation.
  4. Review Criteria:

    • Reviewers are guided by a set of criteria that include originality, relevance, methodological soundness, clarity, and contribution to sports management.
  5. Peer Review Reports:

    • Reviewers provide detailed feedback and assessments of the manuscript, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  6. Recommendations:

    • Reviewers make one of the following recommendations:
      • Accept: The manuscript is suitable for publication without revisions.
      • Minor Revisions: The manuscript needs minor revisions to meet journal standards.
      • Major Revisions: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and re-evaluation.
      • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's criteria for publication.
  7. Author Response:

    • Authors are allowed to address reviewers' comments and make necessary revisions.
  8. Editorial Decision:

    • Based on the reviewers' assessments and the author's responses, the editor makes a final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection.
  9. Final Acceptance:

    • Manuscripts accepted after revisions undergo a final review to ensure that all necessary changes have been incorporated.
